Every third Tuesday of September the Dutch head of state holds the Throne Speech, the State of the Union of the Netherlands. It is preluded by a carriage tour from the royal working palace in The Hague to the Hall of Knights on parliament grounds.
The Day of Prinses, as it is officially known, was led by Queen Beatrix until 2012. Series taken in 1996, 17 years before her son took over as king.
