Facing the predictions of an almost snow-free Christmas a friend and I set out to find a proper winter in Vemdalen.
About half a day driving north of Stockholm it features a national park, a Hollywood style waterfall setting and a wished for wonderland.
The Sångbäckfjället, or the Sang Brook Waterfall if you'd like, just outside Vemdalen.
The Ljusnan river near Hede.
In wintertime the Sånfjället / Sonfjället National Park has limited access, as summer trails and roads have snowed over.
Starting the western trail up for a closer by view of Mount Sån.
Interrupting the hike up the Sånfjället with a hot beverage against the backdrop of Mount Sån.
Heading home, we stumbled upon this place near Sjöändan, just south of Sveg.
