The Pelješac peninsula, at the southern Dalmatian coast of Croatia, in summer is like a little paradise on earth. Warm swim-friendly waters, lushy green bays, small beaches and—depending on where you choose to land—not too many tourists. Yet, if one wants to, there is also freedom to roam and discover on this 65-kilometre (40-mile) long peninsula.
Reaching Pelješac meant either taking the road from the south where the peninsula connects to the mainland, or take the ferry from Ploče to Trpanj. But since July 2022 there is the 2,4 kilometre (7,887 feet) long Pelješac Brigde; roughly halfway the peninsula and a majestic approach to your romantic sunset destination.
Because that is Pelješac is really good at: offering you tranquillity if you seek it well. For that reason, I visited the peninsula many times in the past couple of years. My main goal on the island was to relax, but the few photos I did take every time I will post here every now and then.
