St. Mary's Church Court (Marienkirchenhof), Lübeck, February 2008
Situated on the Baltic Sea coast lies Germany's most extensive UNESCO World Heritage Site: the old town of Lübeck. It bears the nickname Stadt der Sieben Türme (City of the Seven Towers), as the skyline of the "Altstadt" is dominated by seven church towers — with six of them taller than 100 metres (330 feet).
Lübeck was a major centre in the Hanseatic trade league back in the 13th, 14th and 15th centuries. Nowadays, it is a joy to visit and stroll through history. Like when I stopped over on the way between the Netherlands and Sweden back in 2008. The few photos in this series are from that time, still waiting for a possibility to visit Lübeck again.
